Mira went through a phase where she wanted to wear necklaces everyday, not just one but as many as she could find. She wanted them on first thing after breakfast and wore them until bedtime, only taking them off for naps, which she was never happy about
Decorating the tree.

November 5th someone left the basement door open a crack and Mira crawled over and yanked it open and rolled down the stairs. I heard the bumping sound and found her face down at the bottom of the stairs. I thought since they were carpeted stairs she was probably more scared than hurt, but something wasn't right. She cried until she fell asleep, then she'd stir a little and wake up screaming over and over. I was holding her the whole time and thought maybe she had hurt her ribs or back. I put her in her car seat and went in for x-rays. the Dr felt her all over. It was hard to know what was a hurt cry and what was a get away from me and stop touching me cry, but when he grabbed her foot and moved it around her whole body started shaking. So so sad. :( We x-rayed her foot and found a buckle fracture. He sent me home and said when we would put a splint on it in 3 days if it was still bothering her. Before she fell she had been up on her feet all the time cruising the furniture. After we got home she'd try to stand up on that foot she'd fall. We went back and splinted it. She was miserable in the splint, she couldn't crawl or stand with it and kept pulling it off. She cried and cried about it and wouldn't stay asleep when she was wearing it. But they couldn't cast it until the swelling went down. They told me to leave it on constantly. It was an awful few days. One morning I noticed when I was putting her splint on a big red hot circle on her heel. I took her in and he said her crawling movement was causing her foot to rub on the splint. It was causing a pressure wound! No wonder she cried so much, my poor little baby! It was infected inside of the wound so he put her on antibiotics. The blister swelled, poped and the skin ripped away. It was so raw under it. It was so hard to keep it covered and clean. It would crack and bleed. I couldn't keep her off it unless I held her constantly and that wasn't realistic. Finally we were able to buy some padding made from silver which helps to heal wounds and a bandage she couldn't take off. Finally it healed over. It was a terrible experience. She never had a cast for her break because by the time the wound healed so had the bone. I can still see the place on her heel where the wound was 3 months later, but she is running all over the house and isn't hurting anymore
Above is her splint, below is what it caused. This is what it looked like what it was starting to scab but kept cracking and bleeding because she'd stand on it. It was about the size of a quarter
We took a quick trip to WA before Thanksgiving and stayed with my mom. This is Lily and her cousin Issac, their mouths are full of pop corn having a great time on the trampoline
Ethan being sat on by Lily andtheir cousin Shyla. The pic turned out bad because the batteries on my camera were running low so the flash was bad, but I love his face
Mira loved my mom's little trampoline. She is wearing the bandage that allowed her foot to finally heal. She didn't seem to mind this wrap too much because she could still stand while wearing it. I kept her in PJ's almost constantly during this terrible time so she wouldn't pull the bandage off
Grandma Terri and Mira
Great Grandpa Gale taking a quick snooze, he looks so small in that huge chair!
